Who we are

Trusty Business Consult started in 2018 with a straightforward goal: give owner-managed businesses the same quality of advice that large corporations get from big-four firms, at a price that makes sense for a company with ten to two hundred employees.

Our consultants have backgrounds in retail operations, manufacturing logistics, SaaS product launches, and hospitality management. That range matters because the problems a growing business faces rarely fit into one neat category. Cash flow might look healthy until you realise your inventory cycle is eating margin. A strong sales team can mask a weak onboarding process. We look at the whole picture.

Every engagement starts with data. We pull numbers from your accounting software, your CRM, your HR records. Then we sit with your team, ask hard questions, and build a plan that your people can actually execute after we leave.

What we do

Six core service areas. Each one is scoped, quoted, and time-boxed before any work begins.

Growth strategy

We map your current revenue streams, identify where margin leaks, and design a 12-month growth plan with quarterly milestones. Most clients see measurable revenue lift within the first two quarters.

Operations review

We spend two weeks embedded with your team, timing workflows and documenting bottlenecks. The deliverable is a prioritised list of fixes ranked by cost-to-implement versus time saved per month.

Financial planning

Cash flow forecasting, breakeven analysis, pricing model reviews. We build spreadsheets your finance team can maintain themselves, not black-box models that gather dust.

People and culture

Hiring the right person costs less than firing the wrong one. We audit your recruitment funnel, onboarding process, and retention metrics, then redesign whatever is broken.

Digital transformation

We evaluate your current tech stack, recommend replacements where ROI is clear, and manage the migration. Recent projects include moving a 45-person firm from spreadsheets to a proper ERP in eight weeks.

Compliance and risk

GDPR audits, supply-chain risk mapping, insurance gap analysis. We produce a risk register with likelihood and impact scores so your board can make informed decisions about what to mitigate first.

How an engagement works

Four phases, typically completed in six to ten weeks depending on scope.

01

Discovery call

A 45-minute video call where we learn about your business, your pain points, and your goals. No charge, no obligation. By the end you will know whether we are the right fit.

02

Diagnostic deep-dive

We request access to your financial reports, operational data, and org chart. Our team analyses the numbers and interviews key staff. This phase takes one to two weeks.

03

Recommendations report

You receive a written report with specific, costed recommendations. Each item includes expected impact, implementation timeline, and who on your team should own it.

04

Implementation support

We stay involved for four to six weeks while your team executes the plan. Weekly check-in calls, ad-hoc Slack access, and a final review meeting to measure results against targets.

Frequently asked questions

Answers to the things prospective clients ask most often.

Fees depend on scope. A focused operations review for a 20-person company usually runs between £4,500 and £8,000. A full growth-strategy project for a larger firm can range from £12,000 to £25,000. We always quote a fixed fee before work starts, so there are no surprises.
Yes, if the startup has revenue. Pre-revenue companies usually need a different kind of support, such as accelerator programmes or angel mentorship. Once you have paying customers and real operational data to work with, we can help you scale efficiently.
Most of our diagnostic work happens remotely via shared dashboards and video calls. For operations reviews we prefer at least two on-site days to observe workflows in person. Clients outside Northern Ireland cover travel expenses at cost.
Retail, hospitality, professional services, light manufacturing, and SaaS. That said, business fundamentals like cash flow, margins, and team productivity translate across sectors. If your industry is outside our usual range, we will tell you honestly on the discovery call.
Lead time is usually two to three weeks from signed agreement to kickoff. If you have an urgent situation, such as a cash-flow crisis or a compliance deadline, we can sometimes start within days.
